FUNdamental MOVEMENT Skills

The development of physical literacy is now a reality for educators and recreational leaders. Newly established recreational policy, mandatory programming requirements, and many physical education curricula identify the development of physically literate students as the major expectation and outcome of physical education programs.

What We Do

RISING STARS supports students, teachers, schools and recreational organizations in PHYSICAL LITERACY and FUNDAMENTAL MOVEMENT SKILLS TRAINING and DEVELOPMENT through a CREATIVE series of AGE-APPROPRIATE workshops and activities.

(JK – Grade 3)
Rising Stars FMS for LIFE Program will inspire the Master FUNdamental Movements confidently, competently, creatively and strategically across a wide range of healthrelated physical activities. FMS for LIFE will enable youth to make healthy, active choices, that are both beneficial to and respectful of their whole self, others, and their environment.

JUNIOR TRANSITIONS

(Grades 4-8)

Rising Stars’ Intermediate Transition Program will assist elementary aged students in establishing the necessary athletic and sport specific foundations for healthy active living. The program’s age and skill appropriate approach to athlete development is creatively aligned with Canada’s Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model, and will guide youth in their successful transitions into more confident and advanced levels of play. Children will enjoy practicing skills they learn and seeing their own improvement
